Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain financial models (DCF, LBO, comparable, etc.) to drive valuations
• Conduct detailed market and industry research for strategic insight and pitch support
• Develop pitch books, marketing presentations, and client materials
• Participate in due diligence and coordinate with legal, regulatory, and financial advisors
• Monitor and report on financial trends, deal activity, and comparable transactions
• Support capital markets workstreams, including debt, equity, or structured issuances as needed

Job Specifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related fields
• CFA Level I or II (in progress or complete) is a strong plus
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
• Familiarity with DCF, precedent transactions, and comparable company analysis
• Experience with Bloomberg, Capital IQ, or FactSet preferred
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Prior finance or investment banking internships
• Exposure to Python, VBA, or financial automation tools
• Understanding of regulatory filings and Nigerian capital markets context

Investment Banking Associate – Cedrus Capital Limited

Key Responsibilities

• Lead financial modeling, valuation (DCF, LBO, trading and transaction comps), and sensitivity analysis
• Drive due diligence processes, including working with clients, legal counsel, and consultants
• Manage creation of marketing documents (teasers, investor decks, information memoranda)
• Prepare transaction documents including pitch books, proposals, fairness opinions, and board materials
• Coordinate regulatory filings with SEC, NSE, FMDQ and other bodies as required
• Serve as a key point of contact in managing client relationships
• Collaborate with senior team members to structure and deliver capital markets and strategic advisory pitches and deal origination
• Supervise and mentor junior analysts and interns
• Review and quality-check models, research, and presentations
• Promote a collaborative, high-performance team culture

Job Specification

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or related field (minimum 2:1 or equivalent)
• MBA or Master’s in Finance preferred
• Progress toward CFA, ACA, or similar professional designation is a plus
• 5+ years of relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, or strategy consulting
• Demonstrated experience in executing complex transactions in emerging markets, preferably in Africa
• Experience with regulatory frameworks in Nigeria and/or pan-African financial institutions
• Strong command of valuation techniques and financial structuring
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
